Courmayeur
Courmayeur is a traditional Italian resort full of character, and surrounded by spectacular scenery. The centre of the village is car-free with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars, and a fabulous après-ski scene. Meanwhile the mountain slopes are best for intermediate skiers, although experts will love the heliskiing and off-piste opportunities.
About the resort
First developed around two ancient churches at the foot of Mont Blanc, the now large village of Courmayeur is steeped in history. While retaining plenty of charm, the resort is also well equipped for the modern visitor with shops, restaurants and bars galore. On the mountain
Courmayeur caters for all levels of skier, offering the most variety and scope to intermediates. However, beginners also have plenty of opportunities here, and experts will particularly love the off-piste terrain and heliskiing opportunities. Links to Chamonix enable skiers to venture further afield, and the numerous mountain restaurants on offer mean that stopping for a break is always a pleasure.

How to get there
Courmayeur is just a 1 hour 20 minute transfer from Geneva or a 1 hour 40 minute transfer from Turin and many airlines serve these routes.
